Roller Derby Skate board – First mass produced Skateboard

Some say the Roller Derby Skateboard was released already 1959, but according Jim Scheller, Roller Derby vice-president that began working for the company in 1957, keep saying that their board was first out in 1963.

Roller Derby Skate Company’s “Skate Board” was made from wood, with a rounded tip on one end and modified roller-skate steel wheels attached on the other end. It didn’t have concave forms and no grip as well. Just a shiny red paint all over it. It was made in Roller Derby Skate Company’s La Mirada, CA factory.
The Roller Derby Skateboard company was owned and operated by Barry Jacobs.
The “Bun Board” was commercially sold already in 1957
