See Google Books: he Skateboard: The Good, the Rad, and the Gnarly: An Illustrated History and What was the first commercially produced skateboard?.

Roller Derby Skate Company’s “Skate Board” was made from wood, with a rounded tip on one end and modified roller-skate steel wheels attached on the other end. It didn’t have concave forms and no grip as well. Just a shiny red paint all over it. It was made in Roller Derby Skate Company’s La Mirada, CA factory.

The Roller Derby Skateboard company was owned and operated by Barry Jacobs.

The “Bun Board” was commercially sold already in 1957
